the friday five (holidays)   (friday five)

1. Do you enjoy the cold weather and snow for the holidays?
I like snow! "This is pure snow! It's everywhere! Have you any idea of what the street value of this mountain is?" It's also easier to compensate for "too cold" than for "too hot."

2. What is your ideal holiday celebration? How, where, with whom would you celebrate to make things perfect?
I would celebrate Christmas with my family. I have a huge extended family, and most of the time, I'm horrible at keeping in contact with all of them, so the holidays are a great excuse to get together. Except that my current job has totally bogus vacation rules.

We would have a real tree, decorated with lots of awesome tree crap probably bought at a garage sale. We would all hang out in my Uncle George's and/or Uncle Jim's house(s), depending on how many people came. We would give each other lots of gag gifts and exchange war stories from the previous year. It would be a very informal, relaxed time to socialize and catch up.

3. Do you do have any holiday traditions?
"Well mister tree, come christmas time, we'll have a party and both get lit up!"

4. Do you do anything to help the needy?
Most of the "needy" have an over-developed sense of entitlement which stunts their motivation. That really pisses me off. I've been independant since I dropped out of college, and thanks to my good fortune and awesomeness, I'm doing just fine, tyvm. I feel more comfortable giving my money to organizations that hound the US Government and keep that uppity beeotch accountable than I do giving my hard-earned dollars to some random person, as much as they may pander to me or try to make me feel guilty about what I have that they don't. Possessive pronouns are in our language for a reason. So yes, indirectly, I do things to help everyone who lives in the United States, including the "needy."

5. What one gift would you like for yourself?
A pony.
